What is inbound marketing?

Inbound marketing is a marketing strategy relies on drawing people’s interest instead of pushing products or services to customers. It draws people’s attention or interests via content marketing, social media marketing and search engine optimization. Inbound marketing focused on attracting, educating and empowering consumers via relevant content that actually helps and guides them until they are ready to purchase your product or services


According to Hubspot, there are 4 process in the Inbound Methodology, they are:


Attract means attracting traffic to your company website, this does not mean attracting any traffic but only the right traffic that are possibly to be converted into leads.

Usually marketers start attracting traffic by blogging because this can help your website get found by potential customers. You have to provide some interesting and educational content that can answer their questions.

Then marketers need to have SEO, so that when your customers have buying needs, they can use the search engine to reach your website. Make sure your landing page is also attractive to attract your customers to stay longer on your website and explore other pages.

After successfully attracting website visitors, marketers have to convert them into leads. It is usually done by collecting visitors’ contact information like email address, Facebook account and mobile number etc. These information is very useful to marketers and in order to get the contact information, markers often offer free trials or some interesting content in exchange for their contact information. With the information, marketers successfully convert visitors into leads.

The next step will be converting the leads into customers. Usually, marketers use CRM and marketing automation system to close the transaction.

The finally step is to keep delighting your visitors, leads and customers. Marketers should invest in maintaining a good relationship with all the users so that the existing customers will help you to promote your brand through word of mouth and you can attract potential customers. This can be done by conducting survey to collect customers’ opinions or having excellent after-sales service.
